Promoting a Healthy Community
Melian Foundation works with MoH and other stakeholders to implement Integrated Primary Health Care projects that take a comprehensive approach to healthcare delivery by addressing the diverse health needs of communities in cognizant with the pivotal role of linking community structures and health facilities. These projects aim to strengthen primary healthcare systems by integrating essential health services including preventive, curative, and promotive care, delivered through well-equipped health facilities. Through advocating and contributing to efforts to ensure that local health facilities are adequately staffed, equipped and supported, we empower healthcare professionals to provide accessible and high-quality services. Collaboration with various stakeholders, including governments, non-governmental organizations and community leaders, remains integral to the success of PHC projects.
Melian Foundation also focus on Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child, and Adolescent Health; and Nutrition (RMNCAH-N) mainly to address the unique healthcare needs of women, newborns, children, and adolescents, ensuring their well-being throughout the life cycle. Our initiatives focus on improving access to comprehensive reproductive healthcare services, including Family Planning (FP), Antenatal Care (ANC) and Postnatal Care (PNC) and skilled delivery.
By empowering women with knowledge and resources, promoting maternal and child health education and strengthening healthcare systems, we aim to reduce maternal and child mortality rates. Additionally, our projects prioritize adolescent health and empowerment, providing young people with information and services related to sexual and reproductive health (SRH) including the realization of their SRH Rights nutrition and mental well-being. Through this holistic approach, Melian Foundation seeks to create sustainable and resilient primary healthcare systems that positively impact the health and well-being of communities.
1. The Strategy
The government of Tanzania is implementing a Private-Public-Parnership (PPP) strategy which gives space for private sector to engage in difference programs to support the government initiative for quality and affordable health service provision to marginalized groups.
2. Capacity
Our role in the partnership will be to ensure health sector and health service providers are empowered, trained and where necessary provided with necessary provision to make their work and working environment easier and comfortable.
3. Support
Melian Foundation is also engaged in supporting the public sector to implement its strategies to facilitate the provision of quality health services, thus meeting the public needs and fulfilling the SDG's and Government priorities.
